Winterthur has no power to offer a rain date for the Point to Point event. Point to Point is a nationally sanctioned event for serious competitors, and the riding organization must permit a rain date to be offered for a competition. It is indeed a shame people were drunk and horses were injured.

My first point to point left a sour taste in my mouth. The event should have been cancelled due to inclement weather. People walking around in the mud and rain. Women in sundresses, flip flops, and straw hats, covered with mud, so drunk they could not even stand up! What a disgrace! Jockeys and horses trying to jump fences in the mud and rain, getting injured. They had to put at least one horse down. I was ashamed to be any part of this event. Hopefully, someone will look into this, and possibly save a horses life in the future.
