Summer concerts, in Delaware and beyond
Eddie Vedder, 7:30 p.m. June 11-12 (two shows) at the Tower Theater.
What's cool: Mr. Vedder playing a solo show, where fans will get a rare intimate experience with the Pearl Jam frontman on guitar.
What's not cool: Mr. I-Hate-Ticketmaster is charging $78 per ticket for the chance to see him at the Tower.
You might remember Vedder's much-ballyhooed battle against Ticketmaster in the late 1990s. He didn't like the extra charge that fans had to pay on tickets. He didn't like that the Overlord of Concerts jacked up prices. He and his band would not pair up with the service, instead staging shows on their own in an effort to offer lower-priced tickets.
So isn't it more than a little strange that Ed is now gouging away at his fans in much the same way that Ticketbastard did all those years ago?
Seventy-eight freaking dollars to see a dude play guitar. There's a reason why there's still tickets left for these shows.
