The Decemberists

The Decemberists, 8 p.m. June 6 at the Tower Theatre, 69th and Ludlow streets, Upper Darby, Pa.
Royal-sounding flourishes. Smarty-pants lyrics. British-soaked vocal inflections.
If these sonic qualities whet your whistle you've probably already discovered The Decemberists.
The Portland, Ore.-bred band is out on tour behind its heralded new album, "The Hazards of Love," and although frontman Colin Meloy can at times sound, shall we say, pretentious, a $29.50 ticket ($32.50 day of show) to see a band of this caliber at a sweet venue like the Tower is a pretty good deal.
Add in the fact that legendary psych rocker Robyn Hitchcock is the opener, and you've got yourself a steal.
