For a fresh, unpretentious approach to a contemporary American meal inspired by local and international cuisine, Union City Grille is a safe bet. And though they're not a steakhouse per se, a wing of their menu is dedicated to steaks and chops, and includes an 8 oz. flat iron steak with hand-cut fries and sauce bordelaise.

A Chicago-style steakhouse that would Upton Sinclair proud, Sullivan's does all the prime cuts, including a Cajun ribeye and a 24-oz. porterhouse. Walter's is an area institution, with a long wooden bar perfect for ordering a traditional cocktail or two. And when a restaurant calls itself a steakhouse, you know you're in good hands. Their aged prime rib might be the most flavorful steak dish around.
