Aqua Sol: User Reviews
Aqua Sol
3006 Summit Harbour Place - BearI saw the ad for this new restaurant in Delaware Today magazine a few months ago. What a great place! Been a few times and the service is always great, food is amazing, and the view of the water from the patio is unlike anything I've ever seen in Delaware. Definitely worth the drive from Wilmington. I'll be back this weekend. Kudos Aqua Sol!

Have heard great things, and had been dying to try it. I came with my husband and our neighbors on Friday night. The Place was really hoppin. There was a threat of rain so the band Iki Beat was set up in the lounge area. We had to wait for alittle for a table, but the staff was helpful and friendly and the bar tenders were more than happy to make us drinks while we waited. The food was as beautiful as it was good. I will definately be back

My husband had been wanting to try Aqua Sol and finally decided to go and have dinner and catch a little bit of the Larry Tucker band. Upon arriving at 6:45pm, with our 7 month old son, the 3 hostesses looked around, mumbled amongst themselves and then one of the quietly said "that won't work, they have a baby." Initially I assumed that were talking about a particular table, but later realized that we would have been fine at any table. We were told there be a 1 to 1 1/2 hour wait. We said okay we'll grab a cocktail and wait. After 2hours and 15 minutes, we still were not seated. Not because there weren't any tables. Several tables became available and sat open for 10 to 20 minutes. When my husband mentioned this to the hostess her reply was "My manager says were on a 1 1/2 wait" - he said "let's talk to the manager" - the extremely young and obviously inexperienced manager said "We're working on it were just really busy tonight". Many people that arrived after us were seated. They were all tables of 4 or more. They do not take reservations for the deck. The hostesses kept walking past, but wouldn't dare look at us. I guess they figured we were going to take up a table, not drink alcohol and they could make more money off of bigger tables. Fact is, we would have eaten and left in a reasonable amount of time as we had our son with us. I only rated the food because I had to for this post. Instead, tables sat empty. Upon cashing out the bar, the manager was very rude to my husband. They could use a lesson in how to run a restaurant. I will not go there again and will be sure to tell everyone I know to not waste their time. !

We tried Aqua Sol today because we new Chesapeake City would be busy due to Canal Day. I am so glad we tried this place. The food was excellent. We were a party of 6 and everyone raved about their meal. One person is a vegetarian and, for once, there were a number of dishes for them to choose from. The service was wonderful. The waitress was attentive without being overbearing. Also, this was the first time around here that I have had a Mojito made correctly. I can't wait to go back.

My girlfriends and I went to Aqua Sol this weekend, and I am so happy that there is a place like this in DE. We always go to Philly for girls night out, but it is such a trek. Our server Rachel was fantastic, she walked us through the menu, told us specials and made recomendations (which we ordered) I had the scallops which were seared perfectly and the risotto melted in my mouth. My friend had the tuna special, and I was not sure which was better (: I was so pleased that they offered half portions ( which I think is the confusion with the prices) I can't wait to go back this weekend with the girls and order a bunch of halfs. Thanks Aqua Sol coming to DE!!

We went to Aqua Sol last weekend. I had read the review and expected a nice dinner. The hostess was polite and seated us promptly. The waiter was okay. He did not review the specials with us. The only reason we knew was because we overheard the waitress tell the to our neighboring table and by that time we had already placed our orders. We ordered the empanadas as an appetizer, which were overloaded with salt, but were edible. I order the lobster mac and cheese... if the lobster was present beyond a tablespoon I might have been okay with the price. It was basically pasta, tomatoes and scallions. My spouse had the pork tacos but felt the portion was too small for the price paid. The male owner came over to the table to asked how we liked the meals. My spouse mentioned what I did not like about my meal and then the owner got snippy and defensive. Our waiter took 20 minutes to bring us the check and wasn't attentive to our needs. I will not go back again but if you like small portions and over priced food feel free to try this place.

The food is a mixture of Miami inspired Latino dishes in a nouveau fusion of tastes. We started out with the crab & mango stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and we ordered salads. The Caesar's salad was a generous portion and was very good. We also had the lobster mac & cheese (which tastes and looks nothing like it sounds); it was made with penne pasta and cheesy cream sauce and lobster meat.
The barbeque ribs meat literally falls off the bone. I ordered the seafood paella which is made with a short noodle instead of rice and is spicy hot and very tasty. For dessert we induldged in the chocolate brownie which is a misnomer for this deliciously light cake-like dessert. It is very light and has cream cheese frosting between the layers and an exotic taste along with vanilla ice cream.
