prices are about $2 higher than listed in the price list on here. very skimpy quanties of meat on all sandwitches. lots of attitude from the management, 3 -4 sub shops within a mile that over much better value.

MattyDircon wrote about Palacio Maya

The wait staff all seem to either have a chip on their shoulders or are incompetent. Recently, one made a mistake in my order and then claimed it was MY fault. She was nasty for the rest of the meal. No excuse for that. I can't count the times I've waited for food only to have the waitress come back to ask--AGAIN--whether I wanted a corn or a flour tortilla. They do no write things down--bad idea. Food quality is so-so. Last few visits chips have been stale and cold; one recent visit they tasted of rancid fat and were inedible. Last night's taco dish I ordered was completely tasteless--not even an wimpy American version of Mexican. What's up with that?! I love squeezed fresh lime margaritas--but theirs are overly sweet and pretty awful. On Wednesday nights, when I often have gone with a friend, they have taken to having a singer--who turns up the sound to be heard above a noisy crowd. Chatting during dinner becomes impossible. This is certainly no plus. Finally, the menus are not kept clean, but are greasy to the touch. Yuck.

osselbornej wrote about Original House of Welsh

My husband and I went to the House of Welsh because it was advertised in our Hotel Directory and was noted as being a historical family restaurant. The dishes in the ad looked great and seafood was noted as their specialty. The location was easy to find, so we decided to give them a try. We arrived at 5:00p on New Year's Day - there was NO ONE in the restaurant and we waited for 15 minutes for a waitress to come out and see us, although I called "Hello?, Hello?" Once seated and during our entire meal, through 6:15p, only 2 other elderly couples arrived for the dinner rush. That should have warned us away. Our waitress would remind one of Tony Soprano's crazed sister, Janice. When we arrived and looked over the menu, I asked her about the family's history as there was a long article about it on page 2 of the menu. I asked her which member of the family was running the restaurant, currently. She told us that she had only worked there a few months and had no idea who was in charge. One of the relatives, she guessed. So much for knowing the menu. The restaurant was out of several items and the waitress was unable to accommodate my husband's request for unseasoned, plain food, in nearly all cases. It became immediately apparent that all of the food was processed, from a food service distributor, and that the restaurant just heated and plated it. There was no home cooking happening here. The waitress could not take an order for anything freshly prepared. Our food took a long time to come out and when it did, my fish sandwich was on 2 kaiser rolls instead of a hoagie roll, as they were out of them. My husband ordered a completely plain piece of rock fish with no oils or seasoning - it smelled very fishy, like fish going bad. We ate - the food was very mediocre and not at all memorable. It certainly was not plated with any pizzazz and felt like cafeteria food. When we were done, I presented our waitress with a coupon from the hotel guide. She told us that she didn't know how to process a coupon and that we were getting a good price already. At that point, we told her not to worry about it, as we just wanted to get the hell out of there - it felt like we had fallen down a wormhole and had landed in a geriatric twilight zone. We left - approximately 5 hours later, my husband started to vomit and vomited all night with what doctor's at the emergency room felt was food poisoning. Happy New Year's Day, right? Do not waste your time or money eating at this restaurant. The food and service are horrible, the decor is late 70's, and the other few guests are late 80' & 90's. Do not make yourself sick when there are so many other choices in the Fenwick/Ocean City areas. So sorry that this family restaurant's history does not deliver today - they have been in business since 1900. I'm pretty sure the fish they fed us had been frozen in their backroom since that time, too. Stay away and stay safe!

WillieJordan commented on Is Adam Richman up to the Great Steak Challenge?

is Adam as crazy about about Kutchie and Anita's Key Lime Pie Factory and Grill as everyone here is? We can't find a single person that doesn't swear about how wonderful Kutchie and Anita's pies are. Kutchie and Anita are a really hard working married husband and wife team and perfected the art of key lime pies many years ago. We have heard that they have been offered millions for they're secret key lime pie recipe from some very large companies. We just love them and they're key lime pie factory and grill to no end. It's wild, it's wearied, it's the most wonderful place on earth! All we can say is Mmmmm. Wish we had some right now.

Andrea_zing wrote about Fennario Coffee & Tobacco

One of my favorite spots in West Chester, PA. Chill atmosphere, friendly patrons and staff, a good variety of coffee drinks. After reading the one other review on here by "Avis", I felt prompted to make one necessary correction: Fennario Coffee doesn't make food; it never has. It sells the usually coffee shop stuff, like brand name candy bars and snacks. With that said, I doubt Avis has ever been to Fennario coffee or knows anything about its folks, drinks, or atmosphere.

They alsio have a great children's menu for those with little ones. Can't say enough about the choicolate kiss martini either!!!

gramzilla wrote about Crossroads Restaurant

I always come to this place for the best Ruben sandwich for miles but not today. It was toasted and not grilled. Bread was dry and hard. There was no thousand Island or Russian dressing in it at all, very little sourcrout. I will say that what there was of the mean was tender, lean and good but the rest was ucky. I ordered a salad instead of fries and the lettice was wilted, and dried out. all in all it was a very disappointing visit. Plus you make this very hard to do, maybe so no one will fill it out????

CelticDiner wrote about Mile High Steak & Seafood

This hidden gem is right under everyone's nose! Near the intersection of Route 1 (Baltimore Pike) and Route 202 (Wilm./West Chester Pike). The food is outstanding--high quality steaks & seafood to beat any steakhouse in the area...great service -- caring, friendly staff. The atmosphere is absolutely stunning - relaxing, beautiful decor. The owner & management/staff care about pleasing their customers. Happy Hour is THE BEST in the Delaware/Pennsylvania area!!! Once you try this place, you ll be hooked. Had Prime Rib dinner (which includes baked potato, vegetable...unlike other steak houses!!!)....melt in your mouth heavenly. You can t miss with this restaurant - great for parties, meetings, too.

MicheleRestucci wrote about On the Rocks

on the rocks is a good place to hang out with friends. it's a small bar but cozy enough for a relaxing time. they offer karaoke every night and their staff is friendly and efficient. The only negative thing I can say about on the rocks is that they don't offer food. I would rate them a perfect 5.0 if they offered food as well. But they do allow you to order food from the pizza place or chinese place located next door to them.

Lexiedel wrote about Lestardo's Crab House

I was in Lestardos for crabs last night. The crabs were fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself has not changed in 30 years and I don't think it has been cleaned in that long either. There is carpet on the floor which should never be use in a place that serves mainly crabs. The bathroom was totally disgusting, there were exposed pipes, the floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months and I didn't even want to touch the door after I had washed my hands. When we left the restaurant the exit door was so filthy I opened it with my shoulder. If someone would close this restaurant down for a week and rip up the carpet, paint the place, redo the bathrooms, and clean it thoroughly I would possibly go back.

MandyKilgannon wrote about Timothy's on the Riverfront

Ordered take-out from here. Called in 2 wedge salads, meatloaf, and a chicken dinner. Sadly I did not check the bag before arriving home because I was in a hurry. The salads were Cobb salads instead of wedge and both the meatloaf and chicken had no sides at all. How do you manage to get every single part of an order wrong. If it were a test they would get 0/4. I called them back to let them know of this mistake and they did not offer to refund me and instead asked me to drive all the way back so they could fix it. Ya...thats exactly what someone who got takeout wants to do...drive all the way back. Epic fail.

jzurzolo wrote about Pickles & Chip's

So disappointed with Pickles & Chips anymore. We used to love the store turkey subs. Last couple of times there was hardly any turkey. Today, we ate our last sub from there. It was terrible. For $10.50 there was hardly any meat on there. HARDLY ANY!! All we ate was roll, lettuce & tomatoes & pickles. Good thing we picked up some chips to go with the sub. My husband said, "I feel like all we ate were pickles & chips." I called to let them know & see if things have changed. Told them how we were regular customers, but have been disappointed the last couple of times. Thinking it was just a fluke, we gave them another try. All he kept saying was "Sorry". He didn't even care about how unhappy we were. No more chances, we are done. I need to go find something to eat. I'm still very hungry! Ugh!

ReneeUnderwood wrote about Lotsa Pasta Restaurant & Lounge

This was the worst "italian" food I've ever had. I ordered chicken parmagiana which is usually safe. The chicken was an unatural color...like a grayish brown. I didn't eat it. My husbands lasagna was nasty. The dressing for the salad didn't have any flavor. The only thing we got that was decent was chicken fingers and fries for my son...I ended up stealing a piece of chicken to go with my pasta and sauce. THEN...to add insult to injury...it now looks like they added a 20% tip to our takeout order.

The description says that meals are under $9. Impossible since recently I paid $9.50 for a grilled cheese sandwich. And that was double the price I paid only the week before! Unless Lucky's brings back it's old menu with their old prices--and service--then good bye Lucky's. Forever. It WAS my favorite restaurant.

dorrabell wrote about Aqua Sol

six of us went to aqua sol last night for their 1/2 price burger nite. one ordered well done, got rare the first time, medium rare the second, and by the third plate, he got his burger which he cut in half, served in the same two halfs, in a plate with nothing else! when he asked the waitress where his french fries were, her responce was "oh, they will have to make more". the place has great potentional for a fun, enjoyable place, especially out on the deck in the summer. the music was louder in the ladies room than it was in the dining room. the manager hustles and does her part, probably more than she should have to do. she is great, gave our friend his burger for free. the salsa app was bland, two of the three dips the same thing. very light on the calamari app, should have been way more for the price. but the price was not the concern, the problem is usually the waitress staff. been there a few times, the waitresses are always clueless. all in all, for half price the food was good. wouldnt pay top shelf prices for a staff that doesn't back up their manager!

I have to disagree with any negative reviews. My husband and I eat at least 3 meals a week at Crossroads. We have never had a bad meal! The food is very consistent. They have a great variety and all meals are reasonably priced. I would reccommend Crossroads to anyone. Tuesdays $5.99 Burger Night is great and something I look forward to weekly!
