A new Showtime series about a painkiller-addicted nurse

Move over, Dr. House—your Vicodin stash is no longer safe. Showtime's 'Nurse Jackie' is a new half-hour dark comedy that stars Edie Falco as the brilliant but flawed Jackie Peyton, an emergency room nurse in a busy New York City hospital. The occasional painkiller helps her get through the day as she struggles to balance the demands of her job with her complicated personal life.

"Nurse Jackie" premieres Monday, June 8, at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.
